Tornado in Portugal



In an unseen phenomena on Portugal, a tornado hit the Santarém area, on Amiais de Baixo. With wins that could have reached 180 to 200 km/hour in a 15 km area.

A team of members of the Weather Institute will now go to the hitter area to analyze the debris.

Being something so rare to happen, the systems and equipments existing on the country aren’t prepared to warn or analyze such event. Only the analyze of the debris and satiety images can provide some evidences of the phenomenon.
