Today is the birthday of Hans Christian Andersen and in his honor we celebrate today Children Book Day. Hans Christian Andersen was born in Odense on 2 April. His father was a poor shoemaker and his mother a washerwoman.
His work is known by his wonderful fairy tales like "The Little Mermaid", "The Emperor's New Clothes" and the “Thumbelina”.
